Mail Receivers are components that download messages from the POP mailboxes associated with the current partition. In the KANA Response system configuration file, a KANA Response Administrator defines the number of Mail Receivers for each partition. See the Cluster Manager online help and the KANA Installation and Configuration Guide for Response for more information on Mail Receivers and the configuration file.
In System Administration, you can:
Start and stop Mail Receivers on the current partition
Configure the POP mailboxes to work with KANA Response
Set parameters for all Mail Receivers on the current partition
If multiple Mail Receivers are running, and your system has multiple POP mailboxes, each Mail Receiver will start work on a different POP mailbox. If there are more POP mailboxes than Mail Receivers, each Mail Receiver proceeds to the next POP mailbox after the messages in the current POP mailbox have been processed. If there are more Mail Receivers than POP mailboxes, the Mail Receivers take turns downloading messages.
