Managing Secure Messages

Depending on the parameters set for your Response Secure Messaging system, Secure messages may need to be handled in specific ways.

 

If the message is secure and marked To Sender Only:

 

In addition to the above, if the outgoing message goes back out through the same trusted channel, you cannot change the outgoing "from address" mailbox.

 

If the message is a follow-up, it will use the same mailbox as the message for which it is a  follow-up rather than using the default mailbox for originations. This ensures that the message is sent on the same address domain or mailbox group.
 

Note: If the message is secure (either reply or follow-up) and the parameter "Messages must be returned to the original sender on the same channel” is set, an alert appears if the user tries to change the outgoing "from address” to an invalid mailbox.

 

Note: Incoming Secure Messages will carry the Secure Lock icon in the secure column of your Inbox.

 

If the secure message is an origination:

Changes to all messages:

Whenever a new recipient is added to the Available Recipients list, a check is performed to make sure it is of the same mailbox group (domain) as the outgoing "from” mailbox. This action takes place before the message is sent.

Note: Messages received from a SOAP mailbox are displayed with the mailbox group in parenthesis:
