Schedule Tasks and Schedule Table

The KANA Reports user interface provides you with the ability to supply report parameters and submit a report for processing and viewing. Timing and recurring schedule parameters can be set and tasks created.

The Schedule table on the Reports console contains a listing of scheduled tasks and status of execution for each task in the Scheduled tab. You can update and delete tasks from this location if you are an Administrator or other role with the required permissions.

In addition to the Scheduled tab, there are Active and Completed tabs, which provide details about scheduled tasks.

The Reports console filters functionality based on the role and privileges of the user. Report Administrators may review all scheduled reports, see who scheduled the reports and then take action, such as deleting reports, or making reports inactive.

Start scheduling a report task by clicking the Schedule icon in the Control area.

The Toolbar above the Schedule table holds the following options:

Run now

Run the report schedule now.

Copy

Copy a selected report schedule.

Delete

Delete a selected report scheduled task.

Enable

Enable a report scheduled task

Disable

Disable a report scheduled tasks.

Export to Script

Export and save a scheduled task to a script file.

Import Script

Import a scheduled task script file.

Preferences

Set the column preferences for Schedule Task. Check the columns you want and click OK.

The Schedule Task  columns are:

Task ID

The internal ID for the task.

Schedule Name

The name of the schedule.

Next Run Time

The next time for this task

Last Run Time

The last time for this task. When it was last performed.

Is Successful

If the run completed successfully.

Catalog

The catalog path and name for the report.

Report Set

The report set path and name.

Reports

The name of the reports.

Launch Type

The way  the task is carried out.

Task Type

The type of task. For example, file system, email or printer tasks.

Requester

The name of the user submitting the task.

Is Enabled

Whether the task is actually enabled.

The columns that are visible on the Schedule window can be changed according to your preferences. For example,  the Requester of a report can be added to the Schedule view.

Active and Competed tabs

Next to the Scheduled tab are the Active and Completed tabs. The Active tab lists the report tasks that are currently in progress.

The Active tab and table columns are:

Task ID

The internal ID for the task.

Start Time

The time this task begins.

Catalog

The catalog path and name for the report.

Report Set

The report set path and name.

Task Type

The type of task. For example, file system, email or printer tasks.

Parameters

The specified task values.

 

The Completed tab lists the report tasks that are complete

Task ID

The internal ID for the task.

Completed Time

The time this task ended, was complete.

Is Successful

True if the task was completed successfully, B if not.

Click Details to review the task completion details

Catalog

The catalog path and name for the report.

Report Set

The report set path and name.

Task Type

The type of task. For example, file system, email or printer tasks.

Parameters

The specified task values.

Scheduled Reports View

If the same Reports installation is used for multiple partitions only the scheduled reports for the logged on partition will show in the list of Scheduled Reports.
