Reordering Rules

You can move a rule to a different level in a rule group or to a different rule group. When you move a rule, all of its subrules move also.

The rules are displayed in a tree that has expandable and collapsible sections. To expand a parent rule and see its subrules, click its corresponding plus sign. (Sub rules are also called child rules; they are only carried out if the parent rule is satisfied.) To collapse a rule, click the minus sign.

Use the Expand and Collapse icons in the toolbar to expand or collapse the entire rule group. The rule hierarchy can be up to 10 levels deep.

In Content Administration:

  1. Click the Reorder icon on the Rules window toolbar.

  2. In the Reorder Rule Hierarchy window, drag the rule to the parent rule that you want. A pop-up dialog box asks you if you want to make it a child of the rule or a sibling of the rule. If you select Add as Sibling, the dropped rule appears next to the rule that it is dropped on; if you select Add as Child, it is placed as a child of that rule.

  3. Click Save.
